I recently watched the Harry Potter movies with my eldest daughter, Elliana. She likes them more than I do, but I love her enough to invest the time doing what she wants to do.

If you recall in the Harry Potter movies, they have newspaper articles with talking pictures.

I determined that authors should model these “talking print articles” by using interactive website links and/or QR codes scattered throughout the pages of their book.

This gives your readers the opportunity to engage more deeply with you and the topic they are interested in.

This has led to another interesting and relevant topic.

I’m hearing a lot of people these days saying that ChatGPT is going to change how books are created and put us out of business.

I disagree.

ChatGPT is great for some things… many things, in fact. It’s an amazing piece of technology that you should definitely look into and embrace.

It’s terrific for creating blog posts, social media posts, podcast show notes, and the like.

You can even use it to help you write longer articles and white papers.

But what it can’t do is create a strategy around your content. It also struggles to develop a cohesive flow of thought that engages your readers so they will schedule an appointment with you.

And isn’t that one of the reasons for having prospects read your book, blog, or email?

If your book is simply a regurgitation of some content found on the web or an amalgamation of podcast transcripts, then it won’t be as compelling as what you can share personally.

Remember that everything you create (including your book) should “sound” like YOU!

It needs to have YOUR personality.

YOUR humor.

YOUR perspective.

YOUR expertise.

Your book also needs to have a strategy and a structure to make it enjoyable to read and helpful to your audience.

There is great value in having a marketing strategist help you create your book. Just like there is great value in having an attorney help you with your legal issues.

Being an author is great. Having a strategy to become a profitable author is even better.

That is something ChatGPT (and the rest of the robots that are coming) will not be able to produce.

When you are ready to Position Yourself Uniquely in the eyes of your audience, engage them with compelling content that speaks to them (much like those newspaper articles in Harry Potter speak to the reader), and have a strategy to convert prospects into clients, then let’s have a chat about how to create your book without writing a word.
