The other day I received a phone call from a colleague I hadn’t talked to in a few years. We had a nice time getting caught up and at the end of the conversation he said… “Paula, thank you for picking up the phone.” I asked… What do you mean? He said, “NOBODY picks up the phone any more…. Everyone lets their calls go to voice mail these days.”
That same day I was working with a lawyer who told me that a producer from CBS had been trying to get a hold of her but she hadn’t picked up the call. Now that was a call one does not want to delay!
A point of differentiation… be truly accessible… pick up the phone!
