Speakers’ Tip: Don’t Leave the Room After Setting Up
Most lawyers who give speeches regularly have experienced enough nightmares that they know to get to the site of their speech early, check out your environment, set up A/V equipment, and then check out the A/V equipment (more than once).
Tom Antion of Great Public Speaking adds a new twist to be concerned about. He suggests you don’t leave the room after setting up – not even to go to the bathroom, if there are other speakers who are likely to mess with you’re A/V set up.
His experience gives me chills just thinking about it. Thanks, Tom.
